"the consultation is open until 30 september and we encourage people to read the booklet which gives clear information on the proposals and savings that could be made before having their say. "any savings would be shared between ourselves, leicestershire county council, the fire and rescue service, leicestershire police and parish councils." residents can visit www.blaby.gov.uk/consultation to find the consultation booklet and fill in the online consultation form. a paper copy is also available below or via request on 0116 272 7510. council tax consultation information booklet (pdf, 247 kb) » less mon, 20 aug 2018 09:09 by beverley greenwood £4000 fine for untidy land in sapcote a sapcote land owner has been ordered to pay £4,061 by loughborough magistrates' court for failing to comply with a community protection notice. john mac of hinckley road, wolvey, was found guilty and fined £1,500 and ordered to pay costs of £2,411 as well as a victim surcharge of £150. mr mac first issued with a community protection warning by blaby district council back in july 2016 following complaints of parking and repairing hgv's, and the storage of associated plant and equipment at granitethorpe quarry, leicester road, sapcote. more » following mr macs' non-compliance of the warning notice, the council served a community protection notice in september 2016. community protection notices require a person or organisation to 'undertake specific tasks in order to reduce or remove the detrimental effects of their conduct.' the notice required mr mac to stop using the land for the parking and/or storage of hgv's commercial vehicles and hgv trailers. all associated plant, tools and equipment used for the repair of vehicles and trailers were also ordered not to be parked or stored on the site. a revised community protection notice was agreed between council and mr mac in december 2016 after an appeal to the magistrates' court, following his failure to comply with the original notice. investigations in october 2017 revealed a commercial vehicle had been parked on the land for three days, in breach of the notice. the case was presented to the magistrates' court following the breach in november 2017 before prosecution on 01 august. councillor sheila scott, portfolio holder for planning, housing strategy, economic and community development, said: "mr mac had a responsibility to ensure his land did not have a negative impact on the quality of life for others in sapcote. he failed in these responsibilities and we had no choice but to prosecute.
